St Giles, Matlock, Derbyshire, UK.

Four interesting gargoyles on the tower, but it's hard to make out features on the dark stone in the dull light. This is the church in town but over the river from the town park, and on the walk towards High Tor (the walk has a ridiculously scary footpath on a cliff edge suitable for mountaineers and fearless young persons like Jenny and Michael who innocently shamed me into following them over it). Of the several churches in Matlock, this is the only one I've seen that has gargoyles, though me mate John has now seen another. The rather weird coloured photo is an attempt to extract more detail from the dark original photo, but I'm not convinced it works. Photos Mar 2002, 400ASA, 28-200mm lens
